Finding collections

Searching is the gateway to finding and adding enhanced, multisensory information to collections information
Where to search
You can either search for a specific entry by typing in any keywords, or pull up all search results by leaving the search bar blank and hitting the enter key. You can search for your collections in a few ways (so it’s always to hand):

- Under MENU, click ‘Collections Search‘ to take you to the main page
- A search bar called ‘Collections Search‘ in the top right corner of the banner for all pages (press enter on your keyboard or click the magnifying glass to run the search)
- A search bar called ‘Collections Search’ on the main body of the Dashboard (press enter on your keyboard or click the magnifying glass to run the search)
- A search box called ‘Search for Objects‘ on the main body of the ‘Collections Search‘ results page (press enter on your keyboard or click the blue rectangular ‘Submit‘ button to run the search)
Search results
To assist your search, you will find the following functions on the search results page

- Retrieved collection items are displayed as thumbnail images with its basic name.
- To the left of the results, it will display how many matching records have been retrieved e.g. 155 matching records
- Below this, there is a sidebar called ‘Add a filter‘, where you can select a series of filters to narrow down your search.
- Image
- Museum
- Name
- Subjects
- Materials
- You can move through the pages of results at the bottom of the search results page

Selecting your collection item
Once you have decided which collection item you want to view or edit, click the thumbnail of your chosen item. This will take you to the ‘Collections‘ page for that item.
