Personal profiles
On this Page
The profiles encourage the user to consider and record access requirements. All the sections of the profile were designed to be optional so someone can disclose as little or as much as they feel comfortable sharing.
Why is this important?
1. Space requirements
These correlate with the different information in the ‘organisation spaces’ entries, to make an informed decision about whether that space is accessible for the user’s personal requirements.
2. Media requirements
Thinking about media types the user prefers or needs can help us to notice what is available or missing from a collection item’s ‘access media‘. Creating or adding these to the record could also allow others to engage more meaningfully with the collections.
3. Sensory assistance
Noticing where someone may want colleague support is important. The user may have sensory processing differences or disabilities that hinder or prevent them from engaging in certain sensory dialogues with collections e.g. they are colour blind and cannot discriminate between different colours of a painting.
Types of information
See some example profiles by clicking a name on the main body of the dashboard.
There is also a little blurb on the user in the ‘About me‘ section, which can include information about their professional role and related skills.
